Size 40 buttons are 1″ diameter. CHART OF BUTTON SIZES FYI: The standard measurement for buttons is 40 lignes per inch. Therefore size 30 is 3/4”, size 60 is 1-1/2”, etc. Dimensions shown are for buttons before covering. This combo set includes WIRE EYES: Also know as BUTTON BACKS. Wire Eye No. 44 “”U”” shape smaller loop and is intended to be used against delicate material to minimize piercing and runs. The Combo also includes : High quality Soft SHELLS , which is the top part of button. Osborne Button Parts are an Industry Standard for Quality Upholsters. These Wire Eyes and Soft Shells are rust resistant to minimize rusting problems & the resultant damage to upholstery. FYI: What is Required to Cover Buttons? 1.- A Button Covering Hand Press Machine. 2.- Steel Cutters and Covering Dies. A separate set of dies is required to make each size of button for each type of material. Always used the correct die for your material. 3.- Buttons Molds . Consists of a shell and a back.
