The frame has some wear, but character….This is signed and dated. The wonderful thing about the frame is that it is original period. This painting has quite a history. It had been owned by a professor at Pomona College , who later donated much of his paintings to grace the Halls of the campus buildings. It was during a rennovation period the well known paintings were stowed away into storage. It wasn’t until years later after inquiry that the paintings were released to the Public. Some of these paintings were from incredible listed artists…..I don’t dare mention (shushhhh). The public informed were College professors only….one of them got this painting. So it was old Professor to New Professor…. I did research on her (Emilie Glentworth Hall), and she was second President of the Artist Guild in the Van Nuys area….people who own her ART never get rid of it, and the families seem to hang on to it….so this is a rare treat to offer this. Does need museum quality cleaning…..I personally wouldn’t ever try to clean a painting like this…leave it to the professionals.
