This is an excellent, near pristine! The labels states BROCK abut the under-tag matches the late 1940s -early 1950s KNOX under-tag. We know that BROCK did not manufacturer their own hats and this must have been contracted out to Knox by BROCK. This is only the second BROCK labelled hat we have ever seen! This is just your classic Porkpie style hat with a back bow. It’s like stepping back in time to the 1940s when men NEVER walked out of the home with their hat on! These hats are very popular with Jazz, Rock, Country Music artists and you see these worn at their concerts all the time. We took out a collection of dad’s Knox Beaver hats, Ten, Fifteen, Twenty and this is a perfect match to the Fifteen. It’s extremely soft and thick! You can just feel the quality in this great hat! These are rarely found in such pristine condition! We filled the picture gallery so you can see every detail! It’s looks near pristine! Leather sweatband is perfect! Completely secured to the hat and still very soft and pliable! NO MOTH BITES and NO STAINS! We didn’t want to say it’s new because it’s just to beautiful to have never been worn! We can’t find a thing wrong with this fedora! If you have any questions please write to us. NOTE: this was just edited to now include an option for a coat trolley string. A Brown one will look perfect with this fedora! This is NOT sewn onto the hat but could be by any decent tailor or the end can be trimmed off and used just as an adornment. It’s pretty easily done.Dad has a few different color newer 1960s Coat Trolley strings that are listed here on eBay. They make great additions to any hat for that extra bit of styling. Write to us if you’d like to buy one. This will only add $14 to the sale price but please write to us before buying this fedora. The Knox box is still in very hood condition with its original hat holding insert set. If you’d like the hat box shipping will be $32.30. It’s a large hat box and needs a large shipping box and that’s why it’s costs more to ship. You must write to us though before you buy the hat so we can change the shipping cost. So currently there is NO hat box included in this sale. NOTE a if you are outside the continental USA the shipping box is NOT included unless you write to us first! It costs to much to ship internationally. Details: Dark Brown, the picture of the whole underside is the best match to the actual color. There is an under-tag that’s states size 7 but we know there was no hat size standardization back at that time and every manufacturer had their own unique sizing standard. This is a perfect 7-1/8! See last picture. This could be easily stretched to a slightly larger size since the leather sweatband is perfect! It just takes time and patience and a $15 Amazon hat stretcher. We actually measure each hat 3 times using different methods and it’s a perfect 7-1/8 at 22-3/8 inches. We also discovered that because we were NOT in possession of the box it was impossible for us to file the claim. So now and in the future all claims will be handled by the buyer of the hat or item we ship. Again we ALWAYS carefully pack each hat so it will not be crushed in a good strong shipping box. There are always some Bad Apples around who make everyone’s life impossible! It not fair to the rest of the GOOD FOLKS but it’s a fact of life these days!
